Product Introduction (Powder/Liquid)

Accelerators have been developed alongside the widespread use of cement concrete and continue to evolve. Their application in shotcrete significantly increases spraying speed and thickness, while simultaneously enhancing strength and reducing rebound. Accelerators enable concrete to quickly set after being sprayed onto the work surface.

Product Performance

1. No adverse effects on concrete, such as steel rust, alkali-aggregate reaction, or long-term durability.

2. High early strength, with minimal reduction in later strength (less than 30%).

3. Enables initial setting within 3-5 minutes and final setting within 10 minutes after concrete ejection.

4. Minimizes the water-cement ratio to prevent excessive shrinkage and improve impermeability.

5. Provides concrete with sufficient viscosity to prevent excessive rebound.

6. No adverse effects on construction personnel or the environment, and no corrosive effect on steel reinforcement.

Product Usage

Accelerators are primarily used in shotcrete and leak repair projects. In tunnel and underground passage projects, shotcrete can be used to achieve rapid, high-quality results. The method of incorporating the accelerator should be determined by the process conditions.

When using dry-mix shotcrete, the powdered accelerator is added simultaneously with the cement, coarse aggregate, and fine aggregate. The materials are then thoroughly mixed during transport via compressed air. Powdered or liquid accelerators can be used in wet-mix spraying, but must be added via a compressed air stream at the nozzle and not directly into the wet-mix sprayer or pump. Liquid accelerators are first dissolved in water and then diluted appropriately with water during spraying, and added at the nozzle using a water pump or air pressure, ensuring even distribution.

Adding an appropriate amount of accelerator to silicate cement results in a plastic cement paste with a setting time controllable within 10 minutes under certain water-cement ratios and temperatures. General requirements for accelerators include good fluidity of the neat cement paste and the avoidance of rapid thickening and loss of plasticity during mixing.
